Who we are

Eapen Thampy, Executive Director 
Prior to founding Americans for Forfeiture Reform with Sam Burnett in 2010, Eapen worked in the wine and restaurant industry on a consulting, management, and service basis. In his spare time, Eapen writes on economics, systems theory, and wine and spends time judging, consulting, and volunteering for high school and college policy debate programs.

 


Scott Meiner, Research Director 
Scott Alexander Meiner studied philosophy at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1995-1999. Over the last dozen years, Scott has served as a luxury hotel analyst and trader with Royal Insider, a member of the prestigious Virtuoso consortium; provided management, promotion, and consulting for several restaurants and night clubs in New Orleans, LA and Columbia, MO; served as the vice president of KOPN 89.5 FM, an NPR affiliate; and has written several articles on soccer and the economics of soccer.

Scott is currently a member of the board of directors of CAT-TV, a non-profit access television/media services concern. Scott is active with the Beacon of Hope Foundation’s charitable efforts in Peru. He provides management services to the Blue Fugue, a bar in Columbia, Missouri. He is also active with a number of civil liberties groups in the state of Missouri.
